"A Clockwork Orange" was a very daring film for (1971) not only for fights but for the use of sexual art as a sculpture in form of penis or naked women.

The film shows a young man, "Alex" and his gang of violent friends, "his droogs". When they crossed the limit with their misdeeds, the protagonist and leader of the band was jailed, but to go out quickly, he decided to undergo a chemical and behaviorist treatment, promoted by the government to repress his violence, but in the end all that fury would turn against him.

Kubrick was very careful in the progression of the camera shots. At the beginning of the film, introduced his protagonist, played by Malcolm McDowell. He used a close-up and then a dolly backward to show the rest of his band. The director decided to go to the smaller one and then show the bigger one.

In the film there was a lot of presence of the psychological shots like close- up, to present the characters. Following tracking shot to handle the tension of the viewer. And point of view shots to appreciate what the actor sees. Kubrick wants that the viewer to get into the actor's skin.

An example was the suicide scene of "Alex", the director of the film decided to improvise and throw a camera from the sixth floor of the house, to have a point of view shot. The camera was well but the lens did not.

Kubrick was a very experimental director, as he was daring to try new ideas like symmetrical shots, and angles 0 °. These characteristics are necessary in a psychological thriller or to present an actor that feels peace to listening to the ninth symphony of Beethoven, while sees violent images in his head.

Although 46 years have passed since its release is still excellent. It is one of the films that you should see if you want to study cinema or if you like violence and classical music.
